In my 14 years of teaching honors and AP biology, I have encountered few students who combine Sarah’s scientific aptitude with such genuine curiosity and perseverance. I have taught Sarah in both Honors Biology (sophomore year) and AP Biology (current year), and I serve as faculty advisor for the Science Research Club, which she co-founded. Over these two years, I have watched her evolve from an eager learner into the de-facto peer mentor who routinely guides classmates through PCR protocols and statistical analysis. Her capacity to translate complex concepts into accessible language is remarkable; during our January 2026 unit on gene regulation, she designed an interactive simulation that increased the class average on the related assessment by 17 percent.
